Frequently Asked Questions

What is My2024?

My2024 is an online game, a national conversation, and a giant party for 10 days in October 2014 asking lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people across the United States how our lives and communities could change in the year 2024.

Why should I play?

  • My2024 will help you imagine new possibilities for your life in the future—and so much can happen in 10 years.
  • You could win an award from one of our LGBTQ celebrity judges and become famous when they tweet about you.
  • As you play, you’ll hang out with people who are also interested in what you care about.
  • Every story you share helps to build the My2024 Declaration for the Futures of the LGBTQ Movement.
  • Because your future is the future of the LGBTQ movement.

How do I start?

Most importantly, pre-register with your email address or mobile number (above) to get first access to My2024 when we launch in October.

Then, follow us online this summer to be a My2024 insider. Your favorite LGBTQ celebrities will be sharing their visions of the future to inspire you. And My2024 #FutureFriday challenges will build your future-thinking superpower before My2024 even starts.

Bonus points: tell 2 other people (at least!) about My2024. We want to hear from as many transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual people in the U.S. as we can reach.

Who is making My2024?

My2024 is a collaboration between the Arcus Foundation and the Institute for the Future. Over the summer we’ll announce more local and national partners around the U.S. that are helping to support My2024.

We deeply regret this error, and apologize for this technical glitch. If you would like to speak with someone further about this issue, please contact us at info@my2024.us.

If you have concerns about privacy, consider these tips:

  • Create a username that does not resemble your legal name or other personally identifiable information.
  • If you register via Twitter or Facebook, use an anonymous username that does not link to your public profile by going to your profile page and clicking on “edit profile.”

We will not, under any circumstance share your contact information with anyone outside of My2024 nonprofit partner organizations without your explicit permission.

Community Standards

First and foremost, be kind to one another.

My2024 is a forum for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals—and others who self-identify as part of our community—to express their hopes, dreams, and wild predictions about the future. In order to ensure that My2024 remains a community that is welcoming and open to everyone, we ask that everyone follow these community norms:

NO …

  • Hate Speech
  • Sexually Explicit or Graphic Content
  • Violence or Threats
  • Bullying or Harassment

My2024 is a place for your imagination to run wild. While we invite you to challenge existing norms, institutions, practices, services, and more, we do not permit discrimination or harassment targeting groups or individuals, particularly due to actual or perceived attributes such as based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, race, ethnicity, color, religion, disability, HIV status, genetic history, medical history, national origin, family status, veteran status and/or legal status.

My2024 carefully monitors submissions to assure they follow our community norms and reserves the right to remove any content at anytime. We encourage participants to report inappropriate behavior by clicking the flag icon on any card. Please note that this will send the card to a moderator for review but does not guarantee that it will be removed from the site.
